Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Hello. Thank you for considering me as a resource to help you. Choosing a Therapist can be a little scary, and when the right match is found, very comforting and even fun sometimes. I enjoy working with Adolescents and Adults, in Family, Individual, Couples, and Group therapy. I am especially passionate about helping teenage boys become honorable young men through examining the choices they are making. My clients tell me that I'm also very effective in respectfully assisting parents and siblings to identify and act on the changes they may need to make themselves in support of their teens. My clients say they most appreciate my non-judgmental perspective; straight forward feedback; sense of humor; focus on strengths and successes; compassionate presence; and consistent, respectful emphasis on the client's right & responsibility to choose for themselves in their life, while helping them to see the outcomes of their current choices. Research has shown that the fit between client and therapist is the most significant factor in determining successful treatment outcomes. My experience has shown me that the best "fit" occurs when the client's and therapist's beliefs about treatment are similar. If this resonates with you, I invite you to contact me so that we can discuss your current needs and interests in therapy, and how we might best work together to meet your needs.
