Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult. And I applaud you now for exploring how best psychotherapy can help yourself get un-stuck with the emotional wounds from relationship issues, crisis, scars of the past, and difficulties facing life’s challenges. You are then going to the path of creating change and establishing greater awareness of your potential. When we feel safe and understood we are better able to confront our past by making meaningful changes in the present. The combination of these experiences increases our self-mastery and ability to change and grow. As your therapist, I offer my skills of collaboratively defining and setting your goals to manage personal situations and make changes, and working on this together, in a supportive, nurturing and safe environment. I work with my clients to transform challenges they face into experiences they can understand, learn from, and build upon. I have extensive clinical experience and enjoy working with couples, adults, children and families. I continue to be instrumental as a facilitator, educator and supporter of positive change using an interactive, collaborative and solution-focused approach. I have honed my skills and experiences in the areas of trauma and crisis counseling, relationship enhancement, dealing with depression, anxiety, psychosis, life transitions, intercultural/intermarriage issues, women’s issues, parenting, etc. using mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Relationship Enhancement (RE) for Couples. Call or email me now to start your journey of healing: (661) 249-6720;

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
