Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Do you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or hopeless? Relationships are the most important and often the most difficult areas of life to master. When family, friends, co-workers, or even neighbors are at odds, it can make the rest of life feel really hard. It leads to being sad, anxious, and depressed. Procrastination is normal. I start by accepting you where you are right now. I focus on how you think about the problems you are facing. Where could you see yourself if you didn't have your current problems? Have you thought about how you think? Change is not easy. With an honest look at yourself and the right support, you can be happier every day.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
