Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 22 years. I hold a Masters Degree in clinical psychology and have post-licensure training in family therapy, play therapy, and educational therapy. Areas of particular interest and expertise are child/adolescent psychology, women’s issues, abuse and trauma, and creativity/the arts. Over the past two decades it has been my privilege to assist adults, families, children and adolescents in making positive, growth-oriented changes in self-esteem, family and personal relationship, school, and career.

My training encompasses a variety of clinical approaches, including depth psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy and child-centered family therapy. Most important to my clinical approach, however, is to see each new client for the individual that he/she is, and to provide treatment attuned to that person’s needs, concerns and capabilities. In therapy I work with clients to set meaningful goals, and to develop the insight and strategies needed to reach those goals.
