Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The reasons for seeking therapy are different for everyone, but a common reason may be the recognition that your current life situation, circumstances and/or relationships (i.e., marital, work, social, parental, etc.) do not offer the amount of happiness, satisfaction or enjoyment that you desire. In my therapeutic work I aim to help you explore what it is that you desire, what potentially stands in the way, patterns that may have contributed to feeling stuck (depressed or anxious), and strategies for achieving your goals. My current practice consists of adults, couples, children/adolescents and families. In my work with children and adolescents I utilize art and play modalities to assist them in putting their feelings, needs, and experiences into words. I aim to help adults, parents, and children strenghten relationships and build better communication. My clinical experience encompasses trauma, grief/loss (e.g., abuse, death, illness, life changes) separation/divorce, relationship issues (e.g., marital, parent/child, professional), attachment, and problems occurring in childhood. I am ultimately committed to helping you achieve a sense of harmony, increased happiness and experiencing more satisfying relationships.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
