Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If you are feeling anxious or depressed, you may be hoping for a quick fix. Unfortunately, there isn't one. However, I offer you my services as an experienced psychotherapist who can really help you and it doesn't have to take a long time. One of my areas of focus is Complex PTSD, i.e., working with adults who have experienced childhood traumas such as emotional or physical abuse, emotional or physical neglect, or abandonment. Besides those suffering with anxiety and/or depression, I also work with adults experiencing grief, codependency, domestic violence and other forms of abuse; as well as with families going through separation and divorce.

My approach is humanistic and eclectic. I see therapy as a mutual endeavor in which my goal is to help you attain your goals. As a Registered Art Therapist I recognize the value of using creative, non verbal tools to enhance talk therapy. When I work with a child, I strive to help her feel better about herself, gain confidence, and improve her contact skills. I also work with parents to help you set clear boundaries for your child. I am committed to helping young people (and adults for that matter) identify and express their feelings in safe and appropriate ways.

Because the relationship we establish as therapist and client is built on trust, I encourage your feedback regarding your therapy process at every stage.
