Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Hello, and thank you for looking at my listing. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing for about 20 years now and have worked with children, teens, and adults individually and in groups in agency settings as well as in private practice. I have many years of working with children especially, with an emphasis on helping those with anxiety disorders. Everyone has struggles from time to time. I believe that we all have the ability to overcome them and improve our lives, but sometimes just need a little help from someone with a different perspective. I tailor my treatment plans to the needs of my clients, identifying not only what is causing you difficulties but also your strengths so your work will be successful. I offer therapy on an individual basis and often with a group alternative for clients looking for an adjunct experience or to share their process with others. I am certified in equine assisted therapy, a very powerful style of therapy, that is available to us to include in your treatment plan. If you are interested to know more about me and the work we can do together, please go to my website at julieamcbride.com.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
