Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Growing up certainly is not easy, nor is raising our kids and teens to be resilient, confident adults with healthy relationships. Many kids are dealing with anxiety, depression, bullying, poor focus, "fear of missing out" on social media, poor coping skills, and understanding and embracing who they are in regards to their gender and sexuality. Parents often struggle with finding ways to guide and support their kids and teens, and may feel many of the same emotions their kids do as they watch them experience these challenges in life. I thoroughly enjoy helping young people and their families from diverse backgrounds develop positive coping skills, learn mindfulness meditation, improve communication and problem solving skills, and implement strategies for better emotion regulation. I believe that these efforts can lead to improvements in sense of self, in relationships, and in increasing harmony in the family.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
