Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Having worked in the field of psychology and counseling for over 12 years, I have experience in many different areas. I enjoy working with people of all ages and believe in a mutual give and take relationship. This means you get to be the expert on your life and your experience and I’ll be the expert in helping you find your path through it. I have had good success with teens, children ages 3 and up, struggling couples and of course families who incorporate any of the above or below issues. Areas I have more knowledge in are substance abuse, victims of domestic violence, childhood and adolescent issues and serious or chronic mental illness. Of course, I enjoy working with people who fall outside these categories as well. My promise to you, is to do my best to assist you in meeting your goals in life. I don’t pretend to know the answer for every problem, but I will research that which I don’t know or refer you to someone who does. Either way, you will get the help you need! Don't wait any longer to get relief, call me today for a free 15 minute consultation!

Featured Therapist

Kelly Duggan Shearer, M.A.
Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
