Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with people of all ages including individuals, couples, and families. My goal is to help clients that come to me for therapy feel like they have a safe, calm and peaceful place where they can share their concerns without judgment. This is why I named my practice Waves of Peace Counseling Services. I specialize in working with children and teens helping them feel safe and comfortable in the therapeutic environment so they can open up and work through their challenges with specific therapeutic skills I have put to practice over the past 14 years. In addition to specializing in children and teens themselves, I also specialize in working with their families, which helps build a foundation of love and respect between each other. Lastly, I specialize in Christian counseling, which offers a biblical perspective to the therapeutic sessions if clients prefer this. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton specializing in Counseling with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy and I have over 14 years of experience in the field of counseling. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client, some of which consists of the Family Systems approach as well as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. My ultimate goal is to help people work through the things that are bothering them so they can live a fulfilled life.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
