Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My work is rooted in Narrative Therapy and mindfulness-based psychotherapeutic practices, approaches which help clients to find powerful alternatives to problem-saturated lives. I draw upon spiritual traditions, indigenous wisdom and social critique to enhance intuitive skills and unique strengths. I collaborate with clients in order to externalize and deconstruct problems and unwanted behavior. My work can be very pragmatic and goal oriented. As my clients and I focus on strengthening life skills, I attend to the balance between a behavioral focus and the subtle facilitation of the growth of intuitive empowerment and truth within my clients. My practice includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy and DBT Skills Training for individuals affected by the behaviors associated with Borderline Personality Disorder, Bi-polar Disorder and emotion dysregulation. I also enjoy working with other individuals who may want to strengthen their emotional skills in order to lead more mindful and balanced lives.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
