Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been an MFT for the last 8 years and have worked in a variety of settings ranging from group homes to private practices. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective, but use a variety of techniques and philosophies to help me better help you. I work with individuals, couples, children and families. I enjoy working with couples to help improve authentic communication and intimacy. Much of my work has been with children and adolescents and their families. I specialize in working with children and teens who have experienced trauma ot who are having behavioral issues. I work with parents to help hem improve communication with their children, to improve boundaries and to better their parenting skills. I have worked extensively with individuals who are experiencing depression and anxiety as well as clients who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. My goal is to make the client feel comfortable and safe and to develop insight in to what is triggering their difficulties. Setting goals and expectations is important as well. I will give you a clear idea about how we can work together to improve your well-being, purpose, and happiness.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
