Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
THANK YOU for your interest and for taking the time to explore my work as a psychotherapist. I have enjoyed offering therapy and counseling to individuals, couples and families for over twenty years.

I consider it an honor to be chosen by my clients as some one who they can trust and connect with in order to do the work of healing. I believe that it takes courage to commit to the work of therapy, and I am always impressed with the willingness of my clients to do the work that will allow them to lead happier, more fulfilled lives.

I strive to listen compassionately to my clients. I formulate a therapeutic assessment based on their needs and provide the treatment that is most appropriate for their healing. My therapeutic approach is often described as practical, interactive and directive. Some areas that I often focus on include: increased self-awareness, healthy self-esteem, use of appropriate boundary setting, conflict resolution, effective negotiation skills, inner child work, and assertiveness training.

I welcome any inquiries and appreciate your interest.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
