Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Through a lot of hard work and dedication, I have arrived at being able to do what I love so much; helping people through their life's issues to become the person they strive to be. Life can be pretty tough, and if we reach certain levels of anger, frustration or sadness, it really can help to reach out to someone that you can talk to and work through problems with new ideas and insight. Whatever it is that is bothering you, I am here to support you and see you through with pride and dignity.Having worked with women exiting prison, as well as children with behavioral issues, and also serving as a TERM therapist, and providing therapy for individuals with various mental health disorders, I have created a specialty in the areas of addiction and recovery, childhood traumas, self-esteem issues, and life management. My natural ability to connect with people is something that I take pride in. I have always felt at ease when building rapport with people, which is what has enabled my clients to be able to work on their issues, while feeling challenged, yet comfortable while working on themselves.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
