Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have provided therapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults for 20 years and have been in private practice for over two. I have worked with people who are experiencing life transitions, depression, anxiety, psychosis, the aftermath of trauma and who are having relationship difficulties.

I focus on strengths and use problem solving techniques to help address current life problems. I also at time delve into past experiences to help address today’s problems. I use play and family therapy to help children succeed in addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, and anger management problems. I help families learn to cope with and change behavioral problems.

I enjoy working with teens and their families. Adolescence is such a difficult time but carries so much potential. I tend to work well with those who don’t necessarily “fit in”. I have a good sense of the resources and social services in the community.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
