Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
We are whole, spiritual beings who need to connect positively with one another. We all have the ability to heal the wounds we have suffered rather than pass them on to the next generation. Therapy creates that sacred space of safety in which trust can once again flourish. Through visual and expressive art, we can find tranformation and renewal that allows us to embrace the qualities we want to keep and let go of those that no longer serve us.

Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
