Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I create a warm, accepting, non-judgmental environment in which to explore the client’s struggles and help heal wounds. I believe that my job as a therapist is to help the client identify and utilize his or her own inner resources, and to make suggestions about new ways in which clients might look at problems and/or situations. I focus on utilizing the client’s strengths to help him or her build skills toward a more enriching life. I focus on healthy boundaries, assertiveness, and healthy communication skills. I have over fifteen years of experience working with teenagers and their families and also a strong background in the treatment of sexual abuse.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
