Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Ventura County I am trained to help Military and First Responders, individuals, couples and families who are undergoing transitions or difficulties. By focusing on individual growth and stress reduction, coupled with a healthier level of family and marital functioning, together we will work towards your personal, relational and career goals. I work primarily with adolescents, adults, couples and families using goal directed therapy as a tool to help the client with awareness of the thoughts, feelings and behaviors used in everyday life situations. This awareness allows the client to focus on understanding how the situation affects them and the choices they make. I have worked extensively with women's issues, adolescents, parenting concerns, family violence, anxiety, depression, crisis management, times of transition, work issues, communication, stress and anger management. I have worked in the mental health field in Ventura County for over six years. I am educated and trained in helping each individual to reach his or her goals. I graduated, with honors, with my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I look forward to speaking with you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
