Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Choosing to start counseling is a sign of strength. People seek counseling for a variety of reasons. To me, the most critical part of counseling is the interpersonal relationship – and finding someone to work with professionally with whom you are comfortable. If you are unsure where to get started, call me and we can decide if the counseling services I provide will meet your needs and support you. Life changes and transitions as well as other barriers can be difficult to manage. My goal is to collaborate with you in working towards creating lasting change in your life. If you are a parent of a child having difficulties with peers, social skills or behavior issues, I can work with you to assess and help guide you and your child to more successes. Visit my website at www.kimjonescounseling.com or call me today (858) 204-2599.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
