Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My practice is dedicated to the maternal mental health of mothers as well as providing counseling for individual, couples, and family struggles. I am very passionate about what I do and because I'm also a mother, I have a deeper connection and understanding of what mother's go through and how to help. I consider myself to be an Eclectic Therapist, which means that I believe in treating every client as an individual and therefore the treatment plans and approaches are also individual, drawing tools from a variety of theoretical orientations to address symptom distress. I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach because we are unique people with unique circumstances and responses. I honor each of my client's uniqueness and develop a treatment approach that is individually styled for a successful outcome. I consider my therapeutic style to be comfortable and empathic while also being direct. I believe in the cathartic powers of laughter as well as tears and do my best to encourage both. I provide a safe space for all of my clients and feel that therapy does not always have to happen in an office to be effective. I like to take my clients outdoors as well as utilize the latest technology of secured web based therapy (aka..telemedicine) for optimal sessions. In addition to these options, I strongly believe in bringing treatment directly to my clients. Sometimes, it's just too difficult to leave the house...and I get it...so I will come to you! Getting help is easier than it's ever been and my goal is to ensure that one way or another, every mom has an opportunity to take care of herself.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
