Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My primary focus is working with adolescents who are suffering from Substance Related Disorders. This work is done from a family systems perspective, which means that the parents are fully involved in the treatment. My colleagues and myself work from the classic Intensive Outpatient Treatment model, which includes family therapy, individual therapy, Peer groups and drugs testing. The initial goad is to discontinue the teen’s substance use. Secondarily, we work to empower the parents to make necessary adjustments to eliminate the drug problem. We also support the teen in making up any developmental delays that may have occurred as a result of being impaired by drug using. I have over 25 years of experience in the addictions field and have been working with substance abusing teens since 1994. We have offices in Corte Madera as well as San Francisco.
