Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
How sure are about your relationships? Do you have a difficult child...strained family relationships...hurt or anxiety that is preventing you from being the parent, friend, or person you want to be? Now is your time… and I am here to help you find the real you. The choices are yours, but I will be by your side as we explore together what you want to change in your life. My clients tell me that my straightforward, caring, and personalized approach is both refreshing and comforting. I look forward to providing you a safe place to relax and open yourself up to change. My office is at Central Valley Counseling Center, where we offer a variety of workshops, classes, and therapy options.   I especially enjoy working with children and families. I have experience working with traumatized families and parents of infants, toddlers, and young children with behavioral problems. Are you exhausted from trying one new parenting technique after another, only to find that the problems have become even worse than before? That's because the solution is not in the type of discipline you use - it is in the relationship you build with your child. Rather than trying one more new parenting program, I can help you let go of past hurts and build family relationships that feel safe, secure, and even fun!   Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.” ? A.A. Milne, Winnie-The-Pooh   Do you have a relationship you want to be "sure of"? Do you want your family to be "sure of" you? My personal experiences and professional training in Child Development, Parent Education, Foster Care/Adoption Advocacy, and Mental Health have prepared me for working with children and families who have experienced trauma, loss, or attachment problems. I also have a passion for helping adoptive families find security, attachment, and healing. I can help you turn your fear to love and build relationships you can be "sure of".
