Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
With over 20 years of professional experience, my philosophy is to practice what I preach. Therapy/counseling is for those who are willing to explore and take necessary action for change. Life is so complex that at times we need clarity, support and sometimes a nudge in the right direction. If you find yourself unhappy, depressed, anxious, angry or feeling stuck, then I invite you to do something about it. Our negative emotions give us valuable information about our lives. But, they are uncomfortable. Instead of listening, we attempt to avoid or mask them. Part of the therapy is learning to accept and interpret our emotions, understand our thought process and how they relate to our actions. If you are struggling with negative thoughts and/or feeling in your relationships with work, home, or family, it’s time…you deserve to feel better!

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
