Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Parenting can be such an overwhelming job. And, unlike other jobs, you are "on" all the time...you can't leave at the end of the day or take the day off if you're feeling tired. So when your child or teenager has behavioral or emotional problems, it can feel like too much to take. Do you relate? I specialize in helping children and teens cope with difficult behavioral problems and/or emotional difficulties. I help families to come alongside their struggling kids and teens to promote healing, and I support parents in coping with the challenges of raising a family while maintaining their own well-being. I have specific expertise in working with foster and adoptive children and families as they adjust to the specific challenges that come along with being a foster or adoptive child or with being a parent to one of these children. I also specialize in providing Christian counseling to individuals and couples. I believe that true healing is only possible through close relationship with the One who created us, and I love providing a safe place for people to experience God's healing power in their lives and relationships.
