Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The most important part of my work as a therapist is being able to connect with each person who comes to see me. I listen and validate each person's perspective, whether working with individuals, couples or families. Once there is a trusting rapport, I work with my clients to develop stronger communication skills and increase self-esteem. I am also a Certified Anger Management Facilitator and provide classes as well as individual anger management services (Executive Coaching). One great passion of mine is working with stepfamily dynamics which stems from both personal and professional experience. My clinical background includes many diverse roles and settings: child custody and visitation mediator at LA Superior Court; school based therapist for both general education and special education children; mental health intern at AIDS Project Los Angeles; intervention facilitator under the auspices of a UCLA research project studying the efficacy of the structured counseling program with HIV positive adults.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
