Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst who works with individuals, couples, and facilitates psychodrama groups. A member of the International Psychoanalytical Association, I have practiced in Santa Monica for over twenty years.

Using a collaborative approach, my goal is to understand people, provide a safe space to look at the reality of their lives, help them recognize, incorporate or transform lost parts of themselves and treat themselves and others with more compassion. Assist clients to create more loving relationships, to better enjoy their work and play.

My particular areas of interest include midlife crises, depression, anxiety; issues around the Holocaust, incorporating the spiritual in psychotherapeutic work, and how fairy tales and mythology can assist us live meaningful present-day lives.

I teach at LAISPS and the Saturday Center, have published in professional journals, and presented workshops in many cities in USA and the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
