Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Do you ever wonder what is holding you back from a more fulfilling happy life? Are your relationships less than satisfying? You can make your life and relationships what you want them to be. I use evidence based (research validated) methods of psychotherapy to help you determine what you want out of life and make the changes necessary to create that life for yourself. To encourage change and growth, I work to ensure a safe and accepting therapeutic relationship. I also help my clients to uncover their strengths and use them to live a more authentic and joyful life. Evidence based treatment (Parent Child Interaction and Cognitive Behavioral therapy) is used when possible. A goal is to promote connection and the experiencing of positive interactions between family members within the therapy setting. Change and healing are more likely to occur when individuals and families have community support so I will facilitate connections with those resources as needed. I specialize in using Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment and Family Systems therapy, dependent on clients needs.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
