Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been in Private practice since 1987 and for many years also worked in a variety of Mental Health agencies.I have a background in Hospice work and nursing and have special interests in health and illness and grief and loss of all kinds. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and I emphasize approaches that are practical and effective. I utilize short and long term approaches integrating Hypnotherapy and EMDR when useful and desired. I know that healing happens from within and I believe that we all have the resources to change and heal even if we do not realize it at the time. I work with most problems that cause human suffering and have special interests in health concerns, overcoming negative self beliefs and attitudes, aging and LGBT concerns. I also work with couples of all kinds, including parent/child/friends,siblings, business partners as well as partners and spouses. My approach is unique for each individual and I work with you to activate your own available resources.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
