Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My specialty is couples. I am not neutral, but rather commitment-focused. I help couples work through their issues and stay together. Obviously not all relationships will work, but that decision always comes from them, not me. I have experience helping couples with communication issues; pornography issues; affair recovery; dealing with miscarriage and infertility; and transitioning to parenthood.

Sometimes people have a partner that won’t come. I don’t just commiserate about how terrible their partner is. I require each individual to work on their own issues, becoming the kind of partner they really want to be. I believe in this way we honor their commitments and result in changing the relationship, even though only one person is in therapy.

Featured Therapist

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
