Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe we all have the capacity for healing and personal growth. Our early wounds and beliefs/stories about ourselves can cause us to repeat unhealthy patterns in our relationships and in our view of ourselves. This can get in the way of trusting another person or making good choices. I offer my clients a safe and warm environment in which to explore the issues that are causing emotional pain, problems in relationships, work or causing self-defeating behaviors. As a partner in their healing, I support my clients in this process in a way that is authentic, honest and empathic. I work with adults, children, adolescents and families. Having extensive experience in many settings including schools, agencies and now 7 years in private practice, I have developed both skill and wisdom in my work, integrating influences in various types of therapies to best help my clients. I am also grateful that I am able to work with those who are Spanish speaking and I have an awareness and sensitivity about cultural issues that may play a role in our work together. Additionally, I enjoy working with people of all races, ethnicity and socio-economic backgrounds as this enriches my work and gives me a broader view of the world. I believe there are many paths to healing and I truly value looking at each client as a unique individual each with his or her unique strengths and needs.
