Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and provide individual and group counseling to children and parents, as well as to attorneys contemplating or in career transition. Although my theoretical orientation can be described as eclectic (a blending of different therapies) I utilize the theory best suited for each particular client. In addition, I explore attachment and object relations issues with each client. My client’s have described me as easy to talk to, friendly, caring, non-judgmental, intuitive, and savvy. In addition to my therapy practice, I am also a mediator. As a mediator, I combine my unique experience as both an attorney and a licensed marriage and family therapist to effectuate a result that satisfies each party’s needs. I work collaboratively and creatively with the parties and their counsel throughout the mediation process to explore new approaches in an effort to reach an amicable solution.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
