Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I specialize in working with couples and in treating anxiety issues, including panic attacks, phobias, constant worrying, post traumatic stress (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and others. Treatment for anxiety-based issues is largely successful using evidence-based approaches, such as EMDR, systematic desensitization, exposure therapy, mindfulness meditation, hypnosis, and various other cognitive-behavioral techniques. With my education and/or training in all of these approaches, it is likely that I can help reduce or eliminate your anxiety-based problem. I have also helped people with a variety of other issues, including couples’ counseling, child custody mediations and divorce counseling. My work with couples is largely influenced by the work of Dr. John Gottman. I was a family therapist at the Bill Wilson Center working with runaway and severely acting out adolescents and their families in a residential reunification program. I also have experience doing therapy at a substance abuse program for adolescents and their families, at an elementary school with children and their families, and at a single parents program with adults and their children. Prior to being a therapist I obtained my engineering degree and MBA, and worked in Silicon Valley high tech for more than 10 years. Learn more about me at

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone.
