Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My specialties are MULTICULTURAL COUPLES, 1st and 2nd-generation Americans and individuals experiencing grief. I help multicultural couples with the pitfalls of having conflicting values, beliefs, traditions and rituals. Having been in a mixed marriage for more than 20 years, I am sensitive to the challenges of this population. I also help multicultural individuals get comfortable with their identity which is crucial for them as they navigate the issues of belongingness. I am mother to a biracial child. I understand how it is to raise a multicultural family with at times conflicting priorities. I also have a certificate in bereavement counseling. A former School Counselor for children, I assist parents in understanding their children's behaviors and help the whole family move towards healthier dynamics. I also facilitate groups as I have seen how the power of community and accountability help in moving my clients towards their goals. I am an engaged clinician and helping you achieve your goal in the least amount of time is also my goal.

Featured Therapist

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
