Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I offer Individual, Couples and Family counseling. My areas of emphasis are: Couples/Relationship issues, EMDR for Trauma/PTSD, Addictions Treatment and Recovery, Life's Transitions, including Marriage, Divorce, Career Change and Aging. I work from a Transpersonal Psychology / Client-Centered orientation, which offers the philosophy that one's mental health and sense of peace and well-being arises from the balanced integration of Body, Mind and Spirit. From this understanding, I assist my clients in recognizing their role in creating their own experience in this world, and helping them learn how to empower themselves to create the most fulfilling and satisfying life and future for themselves.. Most importantly, I offer my client an attitude of respect, appreciation and unconditional regard so that they may feel safe, seen, heard, and understood. I believe that it is from that field of mutual respect and presence within the relationship between the Therapist and Client, that the client's true authenticity, purpose and healing may arise. At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
