Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If you desire a less painful and more fulfilling life, and know there needs to be a change, I would welcome the opportunity to explore the process with you. Having had extensive experience in grief and loss counseling, I have come to understand that most people bring to therapy some loss that has affected their life deeply. This loss can be as bold as a loved one dying or as subtle as a dream once held that never matured.

Effects of grief are manifested differently for everyone. Depression, anxiety, alcoholism, relationship difficulties, parenting difficulties, are just a few. Together we can find your own healing goal and work to find a solution.

Allow me to walk with you through your journey in a safe, respectful, and confidential setting. I urge you to make that difficult first contact today.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
