Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
"Is your life in balance? My years of experience have taught me that a combination of psychological insight and behavioral change are necessary to make a difference in the most important areas of life: relationships and work. Without change we "understand" but repeat the same self-defeating behaviors over and over. My training provides me with a unique person-in-situation orientation, which combines understanding of a person's psychological processes with the world around them with the goal of a balanced and satisfying life."

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
