Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been helping clients heal relationships, and overcome problems with anxiety and depression for 14 years. My approach is one of empathy, understanding, and respect. I am client focused, behavioral, and educative sending clients home with tools to use immediately for improving their situations: I.E. relaxation exercises on tape for stress management or pain control or for reducing anxiety; communication skills for improving relationships; or rational thinking techniques to help with obsessive thoughts or excessive worry. I use Sand Tray World Play for deeper self exploration, Play Therapy with children, self-hypnosis for building self-esteem, pain control and more. I am comfortable working with clients individually or in couples/families of all sexual orientations, religions, genders and ages from 10 up. My office policies explain confidentiality of treatment and an initial assessment will help you set goals for your own personal counseling sessions. My goal is to help my clients with this and to guide them towards positive achievement and healing. I look forward talking to you on the phone to set up a first appointment and to begin our work together.

Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
