Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
After working twenty years as a Social Casework Specialist for Contra Costa County I expanded my private practice. Originally trained as a Marriage Counselor at the renowned American Institute of Family Relations based in Los Angeles, I have now expanded my specialties to include family therapy and individual therapy. In addition, I work with families who are coping with a mentally ill loved one.

Over the years I have continued my education in couples work to include the theories of Gottman, Bader and Pearson, systems theory and attachment theory. My studies of couples work are ongoing.

In addition I work with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, mental illness and adults abused as children. I have an eclectic approach using many theories including psychodynamic, and mindfulness.

My clients consider me caring, empathic and supportive as well as skilled and experienced.
