Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Is this you: An individual or couple of roughly my (middle) age, encountering the transitional life issues common to our life stage. You're no longer young, but not yet old. Your kids are growing up, and maybe have left the nest. Perhaps you're having relationship difficulties. And maybe you're beginning to wonder if there's something more meaningful, more satisfying, that you could be doing in your career. And you know you're past the mid-point, and wondering what you will leave behind? If that sounds like you, then give me a call. I believe anxiety and depression are the two great psychological scourges of modern life. I also believe that we can manage, and overcome worry, fear and sadness. I'm a great believer in the power of a close, trusting, humanistic connection between therapist and client, and will offer CBT, narrative and other tools as appropriate. Being a therapist is my second career. This means not only that I bring life experience and empathy to my practice, but that I have personal understanding of the kinds of challenges we face.
