Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Jungian analyst practicing on the Central coast of California. I also have a background in theater. I taught for thirty years at UCLA in the School of Theater, Film, and Television. Thus, my practice often includes actors, writers, and artists.

The strands of theater and psychology interweave in the pioneering work of internationally known, Jungian analyst Marion Woodman, with whom I have worked extensively. I have been on staff for years at Marion’s intensives – which include body, voice, mask making – all held in a depth psychology, Jungian container. Thus, there is a focus on dream interpretation, and opening the unconscious to receive its messages in an embodied way.

As a Jungian analyst, I work with dreams and active imagination, seeking the wisdom and guidance from within, from the unconscious, the Self. Material that often emerges is the repressed feminine, and an undeveloped inner masculine. Opening blocked creative energies can be a way of exploring and healing such early wounds.

I am a founding member and teaching analyst at the C.G. Jung Study Center of Southern California.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Carlsbad, CA

I provide a therapeutic environment that allows individuals and couples to explore ideas, beliefs, life experiences, thoughts and feelings that may stand in the way of being who you truly want to be. I can help point out repeating dysfunctional patterns that may exsist in relationships at home, at work and with friends and family.I teach people how to respond in their lives versus getting caught in reacting to personalities and events.
