Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been providing counseling to parents, children and families for 15 years. I specialize in working with parents and their children to initiate and support change in the family. I am a parent myself, and feel strongly that it is from my informed, non-judgmental place as a therapist and as a parent that my clients feel the most supported and understood.

I am described as honest, empowering and solution-focused. Please refer to my Testimonial page to read what past parents and clinicians have said about my work with them. I engage actively in treatment and have witnessed much change in my clients in brief amounts of time. As a strength-based therapist, I am a strong advocate for parents and families, and believe that therapy should be direct and short-term; offering practical solutions to families so change can be sustained on their own.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
