Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Through 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I have come to see the therapist's role as a helper for people in discovering, enhancing and utilizing their internal resources to build or regain a sense of well-being and connection in their lives. By expanding awareness of choices, enhancing a sense of connectedness, and allowing flexibility, the therapeutic process promotes the growth and integration needed to move through life’s challenges and transitions. In an atmosphere of safety and non-judgementalness, explorations into new ways of seeing oneself are opened and integrated. Internal dialogues and self-beliefs can be rewritten to provide a base of kindness towards oneself and others. Through a variety of therapeutic techniques, clients are assisted in gaining greater awareness through whatever “window” works best for their individual personality and thinking style. Skills in mindfulness meditation, EMDR, TFT, hypnotherapy, play therapy and cognitive-behavioral techniques are utilized as part of the therapeutic process. Courses in Mindfulness Meditation and Mindful Awareness are also offered; for a schedule of upcoming classes, please see www.mariannerowe.net.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
