Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am currently a licensed Marriage Family Therapist who has been working in the field for over ten years. Most of my training has culminated in the areas of depression, addiction, women's issues, perinatal mood disorders, eating disorders, parenting, and children's issues. My work with addiction is 12-step compatible and focuses on providing support for trauma, grief, emotional reconnection, and developing new coping skills. I work with many women's issues including Perinatal Mood Disorders (postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD), and menopause. I also provide support for binge eating and bulimia. My approach is eclectic, but often incorporates cognitive behavioral interventions. I also work with other medical professionals when further evaluation and medication may be appropriate. I am a member of the National Eating Disorders Association, Postpartum Support International, the American Association of Family Therapists and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. For more information, or to speak to me personally please call me at Almaden Institute for Individual and Personal Growth (408)266-7826, Ext.307

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
