Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My Specialty is psychotherapy with individual adults and couples whose lives are difficult or painful. They may experience feelings of despair, failure, lost hope or seemingly unresolvable conflict with their partners and associates in love and work. Undermining anxiety, depression accompanied by grief or fear of loss, or a more general feeling of lack of fulfillment and malaise may bring them to therapy. Their struggles may originate in personality patterns that were created for protection and survival in earlier stages of their development. My work involves helping individuals to understand their feelings and to successfully work through the obstacles to fulfillment of their needs and desires. With couples I arrive at a diagnostic understanding of each person and help them understand how their differences, their styles and their self-protective maneuvers are at the root of their problems. I have 23 years of licensed full time private practice experience with a great deal of recent advanced training.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
