Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Often, our greatest struggles come when our relationships are not as we'd wished; relationships with family members are tense, a partnership is struggling, or our relationship with ourselves is unhealthy. I aim to provide a supportive environment that allows for exploration and identification and recovery of inner strengths that can be utilized as you explore new ways of thinking and relating. Whether you come for support with individual issues, family struggles, or couples' issues, I work to help clients learn new patterns of relating, both to themselves and with others that may be more meaningful, compassionate, trusting, and satisfying. I have experience in working with families to build more positive and healthy relationships, individuals with depression/anxiety management issues, trauma and trauma recovery, domestic violence, and adolescent emotional/behavioral issues. I use systemic theory, attachment theory and CBT therapies. I have specific training in trauma-focused therapy. I believe in using a collaborative, team approach, that honors each individual's experience and is tailored to their desired outcomes. If you are seeking support in any of these areas, I would be honored to embark on the journey with you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
