Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a Marriage and Family Therapist I am committed to helping you discover your strengths, identify and reach your personal goals, strengthen your relationships, and achieve emotional well-being. I provide counseling services for child and adolescent behaviors, family and relationship conflicts, recovery from trauma, weight management, and navigating life transitions. Training and theoretical background includes cognitive behavioral, family systems, play therapy, and EMDR.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, families and individuals. I teach parent education and coach parents on new, positive ways to relate to their children using the Positive Discipline principles. I enjoy working with individuals and couples as they face life transitions such as family changes, ending or beginning relationships, career transitions and positive aging. Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
