Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
“Is your relationship caught in painful repetitive interactions? Does each attempt to talk it over escalate into an argument that rarely resolves? Constructive communication is more likely to occur in a calm, respectful atmosphere. I can help you create a more satisfying, intimate relationship by improving communication skills, reducing conflict, examining underlying issues, and facilitating deeper empathy, love, and understanding of one another. Recognizing the complexity and uniqueness of each individual or couple with whom I work is essential to my collaborative and in-depth approach. I pay close attention to the interactions of personal experience, of past and present, of body and mind. We will work together to understand the meaning of your emotional reactions, thoughts, feelings, memories, fantasies, and dreams. Such an exploration often alleviates personal and interpersonal suffering and sets in motion a process of transformation! My clients reflect the rich diversity of Los Angeles and often come from creative fields such as music, acting, art or writing. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families in short or long-term psychotherapy, and am active in my professional community. I love my work!

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
