Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Hi, I’m Marvin Bowerman, MFT, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I have over 28 years of experience working with adults, families, parents, teens and children in family and individual therapy. I provide therapy to clients who want to make changes in their life and who want to feel better, improve relationships, steer through difficult life transitions, and reduce conflict between teens and parents. I see counseling as a place to provide a safe environment to work on both everyday “normal” problems and serious issues. I would like to help you learn to be more productive, resolve conflicts, improve relationships and live a more satisfying life. I believe working together with the client will determine the most likely path towards improvement. I value the clients unique knowledge and experience and I work towards developing goals that are ultimately achieved. I work with people of all religious and ethnic backgrounds. I obtained my Marriage, Family Therapist license in 1985. I have been a member of SARB (School Attendance Review Board) for both Fremont and Newark School districts. I have been a clinical member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) since 1986. I was also trained in Organization Analysis and Intervention in 1988. I have helped organizations go through transition and change process and have been a facilitator for many work groups.
