Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Sometimes the circumstances in our lives take us on a path we never expected. We feel lost, confused, unloved and alone. Sometimes the circumstances are huge like the death of a loved one, an affair, fighting with our partner, inability to sleep, loss of intimate feelings, disagreement on child rearing, an out-of-control teenager, anxiety about the future, or disappointment with ourselves or God. These circumstances may be as difficult as being physically, emotionally, or sexually abused or raped. First, I want you to know you do not have to deal with your situation alone. I am here for you. I have 9 years of experience helping people just like you. I will provide a safe place for you to share your feelings and talk about your frustrations. Then I will help you make sense out of what you are going through and find new meaning and direction in your life. And most importantly I will help you feel loved and valuable again.

About My Practice

Office Hours
I am available in Cambria and Paso Robles. Appointment days and times are flexible. I have Saturday hours upon request.
Services
I have successfully treated clients who are now living healthy, productive lives who have had the following problems: Trauma, victims of physical, sexual and mental abuse, families with relationship issues, defiant teens, marriages headed for divorce, severe anxiety, living with borderline personality disorder, and individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder and their partners. Couples counseling and premarital counseling are available. For those who have lost touch with each other, I will help them recreate positive communication, emotional attachment and love. For those looking to marry, I will evaluate many facets of personality, beliefs, communication style and compatibility. Then I will help them become aware of and value themselves and their fiance from a realistic and healthy perspective. I also help individuals suffering from difficult memories from abuse or trauma. Even those people who believe something happened, but can't remember, have successfully been set free. I am capable of helping the individual suffering with bipolar disorder as well as helping families and friends understand and cope with their situation. Christian Counseling is also available. My undergraduate and Graduate educational experiences were at Geneva College where faith in God is an integral part of every class. I have been a Christian for over 30 years and have both a working knowledge of the Bible and a personal relationship with Jesus. My pastor supports me as a Christian Counselor and refers members to me for help with crises of faith and spiritual inspiration and growth. Group Counseling is available for people who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and their partners. I also facilitate a group for friends and families of people with Borderline Personality Disorder. Divorce Mediation allows you and your spouse to make decisions about how to end your marriage without the interference and expense of the court system. Mediation saves you money due to excessive attorney fees. It provides an impartial therapist who understands the emotional needs of you, your partner and your children. A therapist who will provide information about the most healthy way to interact before, during and after your divorce. Mediation is a safe place to discuss your wants and desires for your children, and how to best provide for their financial and emotional well being. If you have already decided that your marriage is over, there is no down side to Mediation.
