Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The challenges in today’s complicated world leave many of us feeling inadequate and overwhelmed. Have you ever wondered, “Am I a good parent?” Or, “How can I communicate better in my relationships?” or, “How can I cope with my loss?” I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I provide a safe environment in which you can explore these, and any other issues confronting you, to find what is right for you. I work mainly from a Systems and Psychodynamic perspective, but therapy is about you, the client, so your needs and goals are primary.

Although, I enjoy working with a variety of clients, my focus is on: working with couples, women’s issues (including relationships and self-esteem issues), working with gay and lesbian clients, and addressing anxiety and panic disorders. I am also very effective in my work with adolescents and children.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
